GE Washer Not Spinning Clothes Dry – Troubleshooting Methods:
Let’s dive into the details of the problems along with their fixes, shall we?
1. Clogged Filters:
The filters present in the washer can become clogged. Material such as lint, debris, particles, coins etc. can block the filters. This blocking prevents the spinner from draining out the wastewater and doing a proper spinning.
Fix method
Inspect the filters and then clean them if any blockages are found.
2. Blocked Drain Hose:
The drain hose pipe should be aligned properly without any kinks. In case there are any kinks present, the water will not be drained properly. The overall drainage system of your household shouldn’t be clogged as it can also become the issue.
Fix method
Look for any possible kinks and if found, remove them. Similarly, check the overall drainage system and make sure it isn’t clogged.

3.Unbalanced load
If the load of your laundry is not balanced then the water distribution and heat distribution will not be even. Some clothes will absorb more water and receive less heat and vice versa.
Fix method
Take out all the laundry and arrange it in a balanced way. Start the spinning and check whether the spinner has dried the clothes or not. In case the laundry is less, put some additional clothes to make it balanced.
4. Faulty Water Level Control Switch:
For spinning, it is essential for you to put some water in the tub. You must be thinking, how much water is enough right? Well, this is where the water level control switch comes in handy. It informs you how much water is to be added. In case it is broken, you won’t be able to make a confirmation regarding water level. You will either be adding too much or too little water in the tub.
Fix method
On inspecting, if you have found the water level control switch to be faulty then the only solution is to replace it.
5. Faulty Lid Switch:
Sole purpose of a lid switch is to make sure that the washer door is properly closed. If the washer door is not closed properly then the spinning will not be done and you will have wet clothes with you by the end of the cycle. Due to some reason if the lid switch snapped then it means there exists a problem.
Fix method
Swap out the lid switch. It is the only solution to exist.
6. Damaged Spin Belt:
Use your manual to find out the exact location of the spin belt. Check if it is faulty or not. In case it is, then it will deliver wet clothes because the spin cycle will not take place at all. Open the top-side panel of your washer and inspect the belt.
Fix method
However, if you find your spin belt to be faulty then don’t worry as it is a solvable problem. Just replace the belt with a compatible model and you will be good to go.
7. Faulty Motor Control Board:
Control board is the brain of your washer. If it has gone faulty then it means the communication among other parts of the washer will not be done. As a result, the washer will not work as intended.
Fix method
Visually inspect the control board first. If you witness any loose wire connections, frayed wires or burnt parts then fix them as soon as possible. The issue still exists? Try replacing the control board.
8. Damaged Clutch:
Clutch is the primary component of your washer. It assists the drum to rotate properly. If it is damaged then the drum won’t rotate causing the spinner to not perform any spinning. To be sure about this issue, first you need to run a “wash cycle”. If the drum doesn’t rotate then it means there is an issue.
Fix method
Replace the clutch with a new one which is compatible with your washer model.
9. Faulty rotor position sensor
Having a faulty rotor position sensor means that the washer will not be able to sense. As a result, it will not enter the spin cycle.
Fix method
Inspect the rotor position sensor first by referring to your manual. Secondly, replace the sensor or the whole rotor position unit.
10.Bad drive motor
The job of your drive motor is that it rotates the drum during spin cycles. If it is faulty then the rotation will not take place and spinning will not be done.
Fix method
Carefully listen to the humming of the motor. If you hear the humming then it means all is good but if not then it is time for a replacement.
